Shabby Chic Ruffle Necklace

I made this cute summer tutorial for Kristin over at Craft Leftovers...
my version of a super popular look, enjoy!

Supplies –


Strip of fabric 30 inches by 3 inches

Six 2 inch squares of contrasting scrap fabric

17 inch chain with closure

Needle and thread

Safety pin

Scissors

I just made one and I love it!! Thanks! I'm new to sewing though and when I pulled it tight and knotted it off (on both sides) it still goes looser...do you know what I might be doing wrong?

Marylola, To make your ruffle tight make sure the material is in the proper position for securing, then insert the needle in one side then insert in the other side and pull. Do the back stitch at the last stitch, then cut the thread. Remember pull it nice and tight before you start to secure it with the stitch! Hope that helps :)
